About
Guiding You from Overwhelmed to Empowered

When Patti graduated with a certificate in education from a school that was created to meet the unique needs of students who have Learning Disabilities, she was eager at the thought of teaching these extraordinary students what they need to be successful.  Frustrated with the discrepancy between what she knew was possible and what she was able to carry out for her students, she decided to strike out on her own, and in 1994, opened her private practice.

While striding to keep ahead of what students who have Learning Disabilities need to flourish, Patti has blazed many trails and her practice has undergone a number of transformations. Her guiding belief throughout these times of change is that given the tools they need, people who have Learning Disabilities can be successful at anything they set their minds to.

In an effort to figure out how she could connect with as many families impacted by Learning Disabilities as possible, Patti began to work with a business coach who was a guiding light in helping her go further and faster toward her goals.  Along the way, Patti decided that this type of relationship would benefit the families she works with a great deal.  As a result, her practice has no geographical borders and she works with clients throughout the English speaking world.

Patti has had the great fortune of having significant mentors alongside her during her journey.  Dr. Peter Marshall, psychologist, author and speaker and Jim Bryson, counsellor and faculty at Georgian College, Barrie Campus, have been professional sounding boards and cheer leaders along the way.

Patti and Michael, her husband of 20 years, live in beautiful Muskoka, Ontario.  They enjoy hiking, kayaking and snowshoeing; observing and photographing the abundant wildlife that visit their home; and exploring the many culinary delights this area has to offer.

Patti has benefitted from the experience and knowledge of many professors and instructors from a number of institutions: the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario where she earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology, St. Jerome’s College at the University of Waterloo, where she attended the Institute for Studies in Learning Disabilities, Cambrian College, in Sudbury, Ontario, where she completed post graduate studies as a Learning Disabilities Specialist in both Assistive Technology and Learning Strategies and Coach Training Alliance in Boulder, Colorado where she graduated as a Certified Life Coach.

Patti has earned certificates of completion in Advocacy: IPRC and Appeals and Tribunals granted by the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario.
